Timing method: elapsed time is derived from timestamps rather than incrementing a counter on every screen refresh. This helps avoid accumulated drift when rendering slows.
Stopwatch with a Useful Result Area
The result panel is no longer an empty calculator placeholder. It now acts as the stopwatch's live lap workspace. Each lap records an individual lap duration and the total elapsed time at that point. Summary cards show how many laps you have recorded, the latest lap, the fastest lap and the average lap.
The stopwatch display uses hundredths of a second for convenient on-screen timing. For ordinary browser use this is useful for work sessions, study intervals, exercise sets, presentations, production checks and informal performance measurements. It is not a certified sports timing instrument.
Copy or Export Lap Results
When a session is finished, Copy Results puts the elapsed time and lap list on the clipboard. Download CSV creates a simple file with lap number, lap time and total time, which is convenient for spreadsheets or records. These operations happen locally on your device.
Example: if you record laps at 00:45.20, 01:29.80 and 02:16.10 total elapsed time, the result area also calculates the individual lap intervals so you can compare pace rather than only cumulative time.
Stopwatch Controls
- Start / Pause: start timing or freeze the current elapsed time without clearing it.
- Lap: capture the current interval while the main stopwatch continues running.
- Reset: clear elapsed time and laps after the stopwatch has been paused.
- Keyboard shortcuts: Space starts or pauses, L records a lap, and R resets while paused.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where are the stopwatch results?
The complete live result area is beside the stopwatch on desktop and directly below it on smaller screens. It shows lap statistics and every recorded lap.
Can I export laps?
Yes. Use Download CSV to save lap number, individual lap time and cumulative elapsed time.
Does pausing erase laps?
No. Pause keeps the elapsed time and lap history. Reset clears the session.
Is the stopwatch suitable for official race timing?
No. It is a browser-based convenience tool and can be affected by the device, operating system and browser environment.
