How to play Fraction Domino Chain
Touch an available domino to add it to your chain. Flip it to make its left fraction match the previous right fraction. The first must match Start and the last must match Finish. Use every tile once.
The mathematics behind the game
Two fractions are equivalent when their cross-products match. For example, 2/3 matches 4/6 because 2 × 6 = 3 × 4. A domino can be flipped; order and orientation both matter.
Worked example
Start with 1/2. Place a tile with 2/4 on the touching left side, then continue from that tile’s right-hand fraction. Complete the chain until the last right side equals Finish.
Tips to improve
Try Easy first to learn the steps without a timer. Move to Normal and Hard for larger numbers and more tasks. If you make a mistake, use Undo to reconsider the last move. A hint gives useful guidance but does not set an unaided personal best. Daily challenges offer the same seeded puzzle each UTC day on this device.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know two domino ends match?
Cross-multiply the numerators and denominators. Equal products mean the two fractions have the same value.
Can I turn a domino around?
Yes. Use the Flip control to reverse a placed domino while preserving the tile.
